The trenchcoat's a 1942 RAF Private Officer's coat, bought it a few years back on my local town market: some guy had a one-off stall where he was selling old army uniforms, medals, weaponry, that sort of thing. The trench was £20, and I believe it to be one of the best £20s I've ever spent. It's insanely heavy (everyone wanted to try it on, and you could watch their arm visibly sink as you handed it to them since they didn't anticipate the weight), and some guy came up to me at Uni randomly in Staples to talk with me about it: apparently they were designed so that when they were soaking wet, they'd glance bullets off them (old pistols at an angle, of course, but still impressive). The label shows it was made by
Austin Reed, who're still around as a fairly prolific tailor's: the Nazi uniforms were designed and made by Hugo Boss, in comparison.
The beard's gone at the moment, had my brother's wedding last week so I had a haircut and shave. Growing back a full one at the moment, not just a chinstrap/neckbeard like I used to.
