Forum's a little slow, so here's a chat-inducer: what've you been up to lately?

I just got back from a bike trip on Nantucket with Andrew (Zman, site designer) and our sisters' Girl Scout troop. We did a 40-mile ride on Saturday, and I am kind of broken. And sunburned. Oh, God, is my face burned.

Still, I <3 Nantucket. Beautiful island, beautiful beaches and lighthouses, quaint architecture, and way, way too many rich snobs. Still beautiful!

I just got back from University (first year), and over the summer I need to get a job, get my driver's license, and do some projects I've had lined up to do in my spare time.

I am...let's see:

-starting final bit of trilogy I've been writing for like...the last 2 years.
-playing TF2 and WoW (no one can pronounce my name correctly in either game, I've learned)
-Working my butt off to build back up my finances in anticipation of fall semester and reduced working hours
-Oh, and I move to a new apartment next week, so cleaning. Oh god, the cleaning -- you never really realize how many books you own until you start finding the things all over the place while packing.

I just came back from Anime North a bit ago, which was AMAZING and I have just finished Grade 12, and I'm packing to move out of my current place. Only one week to go, heck yes! Then I decided to become involved with this comic.

...Now I'm going to go play video games.

ROTFL... if only I was that awesome. >>; It was based on my day at the boardwalk and the fact me and two of my friends never got to frolic on the beach, and it was slightly more terrifying.

Thanks for the compliment teh hchano, I know the sig itself sucks (as I'm still learning) but the prospect of Zangief in a Guy Fawkes mask is too good to pass up.

Now just imagine that guy in the middle of your living room, making away with your brand new TV. Bursts through your wall and he's gone, that's the reality of the World's STRONGEST Thief!

My friend linked me a higher res shot of that pic I linked up there;
I clipped it down and left it the original size so you can see the
look of sheer terror on my face...

Image

I hate how I am the only terrified one in this whole shot too. LOL. [even my bf
next to me looks okay...and he was more terrified than I was lolll]

In any case, if the guy from Bishi's sig was in my house, I'd probably be
making this face.

Actually, hchano, you look to rather be enjoying yourself.

So here's a story: I was out helping my dad work on his boat today. We were putting in an inverter so that the power could be used for stuff like the microwave even when the boat wasn't plugged in in a port. I was holding down the tech, passing him various drill bits in between replaying Pokemon Silver and screaming as Whitney's Miltank endlessly recovered its health with Milk Drink (it drinks its own milk? what?). All was going well.

Then he accidentally drilled through the (full) gas tank.

Gas begins to pour into the bilge and we go into a fit yanking out power cords and shutting everything down, then plug it like the boy-with-his-finger-in-the-dike. In the end, after we seal the leak with a screw, we spent the next four hours trying to clean up the bilge (we couldn't use a bilge pump because we couldn't use power for fear of going boom.) Eventually we flooded the bilge with water, then abandoned it, open, and hoped it would mostly evaporate out overnight and just leave harmless residue.

Now it looks like it's going to pour tonight.

FML. :p

Oh man I wish he did. Lmao. I thought so too btw >>

LOL @ FML. That is pretty horrible.

I think the only FML I can think of atm is that I used to mow the lawn at my mom's place with a push mower...

Which is fine, right?

But we had 5 acres.

What's up? Right now, the ceiling.

Moving on: studying for exams (I'm a third year uni student) has consumed pretty much all of my time. Other than that, I finished my most recent knitting project, a maille hand flower (excuse my fat fingers). I've slightly altered it since that photo, but the changes are so minor that they're very hard to notice.

Finally, taking my mum to a Pink concert tonight for her birthday.

Ouch: exactly the reason I passed up joining up with a friend of mine this summer to be an odd-jobs team for people from our church. Mainly because I'd be useless at outdoor-sy stuff, but other than that, I'd feel bad for taking money from old people. D:

Taking a summer class at the moment. Intro to Acting. I'm currently working on a character. If I finish the monologue I'm writing, I'll post it on youtube or something. July looks to be a great month for shooting some shorts my film group has written. Jeez, look at the time! I could talk about me forever. Just considering how awesome I am, it's amazing. Glad to hear that all of you are up to some sweet shenanigans. Not as cool as mine, granted, but awesome just the same. =P

Smells like Updawg in here.
