((Um. I don't know what just happened, so I'm leaving my post as is. Sabra would never have accepted the piggyback ride, but I don't know where that leaves everyone.))

Sabra had never ever in her whole life seen a grown man cry. She'd seen women cry, of course, and some boys her age. But what self respecting man cried? She knew from her teachers and friends that not everyone shared her family's values and beliefs, but she still frowned.

She shuffled uncomfortably at the offer of a piggyback ride and sucked in her lower lip. He was trying to be nice, and the thought of sitting up so high was really cool, but...

In her head, Hooyo and Aabbo were glaring at her for even considering saying yes. She might never see them again, but that didn't mean she should behave badly.

"No thank you Mr. Derrik," she said, "that's haraam. But I would like to sit with you. You're nice," she added, smiling again.

"You may not be a hero, but you certainly look it. I'd wager that most of the other prisoners will be looking up to you. And not just physically."
That comment surprised Derrik, he was not used to that sort of thing.
"Thanks, but the day I have to be paid attention too, will not be soon I hope, I'm just used to being the tag along, no experiance in leading."

And just as suddenly as the big man had noticed her, his attention drifted elsewhere. Sabra's eyes narrowed, but she decided to ignore his snub and headed over to the table to sit down. After all, she had a cup of coffee now, and she couldn't wait to try it.

((Great, now you're making me think of Chad from Bleach))

Still talking to Derrik, Ethan said, "That's real cool of you, man. Most guys I know would use being able to change into such a big wolf to their advantage, and try to take an Alpha position."

"That's real cool of you, man. Most guys I know would use being able to change into such a big wolf to their advantage, and try to take an Alpha position."
"Thanks, again, not used to talking this much. But I try and stay humble."
Noticing Sabriyya looking upset and walking away, Derrik felt bad, he allowed himself to get distracted.
"Sorry Sabriyya, didn't mean to ignore you, but had to answer the questions."

Now Ethan was really getting weirded out. He only kind of noticed it at first, but now it was starting to gleam, "Dude, you act exactly like that big guy from Bleach. That anime show about an orange haired kid who becomes a Soul Reaper."

((OOC: sorry for being such a downer, everyone.))

"Thanks, but the day I have to be paid attention too, will not be soon I hope, I'm just used to being the tag along, no experience in leading."

"Well, you may or may not have to explore that experience, since once you've all been finished testing, You'll likely be exterminated." Alix took another bite of the Snickers as if he had just been conversing about the weather.

Ethan stared at Alix. Did he REALLY just say that we were likely to be exterminated?

"Dude, I've got to say it. You're a total dou--." Catching himself, Ethan silently cursed in his mind as he remembered the little girl sitting close by.

With the girl ignoring him it looked like, Derrik sighed and said,
"If you need help Sabriyya, don't be afraid to ask."
"Dude, you act exactly like that big guy from Bleach. That anime show about an orange haired kid who becomes a Soul Reaper."
"Huh? I don't watch much TV sorry, but ill try a guess here, does it have a bear thing?"
"Well, you may or may not have to explore that experience, since once you've all been finished testing, You'll likely be exterminated."
This caused a chill in Derrik.
"Even the kids?" was all he managed, looking to make sure that Sabriyya didnt hear this, then walked close to the group.
(OOC: I only know a little bit about more "mainstream" (For a lack of better term) animes, I dont watch TV much, just like Derrik, but one of my friends is a fiend about anime. and NINJA'D AGAIN! GAH NARATH!)

Turning his attention back to Derrik in an attempt to get Alix's comment out of his mind, "Y-Yeah. Exactly, except it's a lion plushie."

Missing a comment that would have cued a screaming fit by only a few seconds, Heather walked into the room and focused on the same thing everyone focused on at first - the sword.

"Not a bad piece. Kinda reminds me of Mr. Davis's designs." She sighed. "I was really looking forward to that blacksmith apprenticeship too."

(Great seas o' thunder; am I the only one here who's not ninja'ing people?)

Damien choked on his root beer in shock, nearly dropping the bottle. "Exterminated?!"

Looking at the man who had been talking to him this whole time, Derrik replied,
"Really? Huh, never trust me when I say somethings," He then turned back to the sword man,
"And I do hope you trust me here," smiling, trying to sound calm, confidant, and loud "That I will try to make sure with my life, so be it, that as many people as possible make it out."
Walking to the fridge to get another water, he stopped, anger rising in him. He looked at the fridge, and Sabriyya's young innocent face looked back. He curled his right hand, and smashed it into the fridge, ignoring the ruckus it may cause.

Heather blinked. "Did I miss something?"

Ethan watched as Derrik slammed his fist into the fridge, cringing as he set his coffee cup down and cradled his own busted hand, and then remembered why he had punched the wall in the first place. He was going to set things right, and the swordie couldn't stop him, even if he tried.

The big guy was startled, scared, even, at the cold fact Alix had just presented. "Even the kids?"
Lee didn't fare much better, if his reaction was anything to go by, "Dude, I've got to say it. You're a total dou--."He cut himself off, though Alix couldn't see why. Worse words than that had been used to describe him and the rest of the members in the program since he was even younger than the girl in the room.
"Well, I don't know this for sure, but I think i remember one of the doctors...Helen, I think it was, trying to convince the boss to let her keep the kid over there as a lab assistant. But everyone else is a dead man walking. But surely you had realized that much by now? Why would we release you all into the rest of the world again, now that you can change shape? Now that you have your powers? No, you're far too dangerous. What if, for instance, you knew where this was? With you testimony, the Government would likely nuke this place before we knew anything about it. We can't risk that. It's nothing personal, you understand."

His knuckles bleeding, he replied to the new girls question,
"Nothing important." Derrik growled, as he looked for something to wrap his hand in.

Still close to Alix from observing the sword, Heather whispered to Sabra couldn't hear. "I understand, as long as you understand that it's nothing personal that when the time comes, myself and others will happily rip your throat out to escape."

(Okay, when everyone's ninja'ing each other, that's a sure sign that it's time to SLOW DOWN.)
