((As I said in OOC, don't feel strictly limited by temporal order here - if you want your char to react to something before the last person gets removed, go ahead, though be careful of what other people have already posted))

The radio crackled as directions were relayed to start taking 'team' members. Then, in pairs separated by a few minutes each, guards entered the darkened room and started taking the inoculees away one by one.

First, Caleb Green. He went quietly if a bit unhappily, giving a non-committal shrug in the direction of the girl in the cage next to his (who blew a kiss back to him) and the wolf in the next cage over.
Second, Jacinta Winchester, who was asleep at the time the guards got to her. She also went quietly, though she had banged her head on the cage when she woke.
Third, Damien Delmarson, in the form of a coyote. Despite the opportunity, he didn't take advantage of the agility of his animal form, though that was understandable the guard, while being nice enough, was still armed.
Fourth, Heather Rache. This one caused a bit of a commotion as she was lead out, complaining about having her wallet taken, and none to happy about not having pants.
Fifth, Caden Howard. He came out of his cage looking like a deer in the headlights, utterly terrified of the situation he thought he was no in, having noticed people methodically being removed from their cages.
Sixth, both Sabriyya Ali and Abel Forster. The young girl seemed happy enough to be out of her cage, though the wolf was much less satisfied with the arrangement, and definitely not enjoying the fact he had to wear a muzzle as they were led out.

The row of cages on the north wall seemed much emptier with five cages in a row now sitting empty.

((William Daye was removed the other day and replaced by a doppelganger. Ethan Tirquette has not been taken yet, though should be soon, so keep a 'heads up'))

Sam watched from behind his side was people from the other side were taken out of their cages. Some struggled, and some went quietly. He wondered what this all meant, and looked to his right at Ethan. He whisked his tail and regarded his neighbour with his eyes clearly reflecting concern and worry. They'd been here for 3 days, and it wasn't exactly the most stress-free of occasions. He paced about his cage, shoulders drooped. He opted to sit, but it's hard to stay still when he saw another person taken away.

It was finally time.

After the series of events yesterday, many people were on edge, and one was out cold. Ethan didn't even twitch as a pair of guards came into the room and walked up to his cage.

"So, this is the twerp that had Tim so riled up?" the first guard whispered.

"Yup," his companion returned in like manner. "'Course I really can't blame ol' Tim for havin' a bone t' pick with th' kid, after that wolf right in front of us choked Tim with his own ASP after just wakin' up."

"And just think, this kid didn't even know he'd been shot up with some serious shit," the first guard said and began fumbling to unlock Ethan's cage. "Now, we ain't got the time to be standing here! That creepy candy-guy Kayje wants us to bring this subject to Block C as soon as possible!"

The guard opened the door to Ethan's cage and the second slipped a muzzle over his mouth. The fist guard then lifted Ethan out of his cage. "Jesus Christ! He's put on some weight for not having had a decent meal in days!"

"Well," the second guard chided in, "like you said, let's get going."

And just like that, Ethan was on his way to Block C.

((OOC: For now Ethan's alter ego is known as Gemini.))

Some dark, blurry shapes moved into Caine's range of sight. They were guards, and they were armed. Am I going to get tested now? Caine's stomach did that nervous little flip-flop again. But they didn't go to her cage, they went to Caden's.

What? No! He's the only one to talk to here! Don't go!
But then Caine saw how scared he looked as the guards took him out of his cage. Poor guy, who knows where they're taking him or what they're going to do.. I should say something. I mean, look at him! He's shaking like a leaf. They were taking him away now, and his figure was starting to get blurry.

"Hey, um." She said softly at first but then continued a little louder, "I- I'll see you later, okay?"

When Caine couldn't distinguish him from the other blurry shapes she leaned up against the cage wall and hugged her knees to her chest.

Its so lonely... being all alone.. and stuff..

Ethan was sleeping soundly still when two men came in, discussing something of trivial importance that was dwarfed when they approached their cages. The lynx sat up and raised his hackles. They couldn't!

The guards opened Ethan's cage and one slipped a muzzle over his mouth. This sent Sam into a frenzy. He growled and hissed, running to the edge of his cage. The guards were startled, but the remained confident that the cage would stop the lynx. It was true.

The feline reached his claws out but the cage only made him fall short of even reaching a leg or an arm. They only laughed as they heaved Ethan out, ignoring the lynx as the wolf was taken away.

Just like that, he was alone again. He simply sat and laid flat on the cage floor, suddenly feeling drained.

Aaron had watched over the course of the “Morning” as several prisoners got taken out of the room to who knows where. It looked like he had nearly this whole side of the room to himself after several of them were taken off. He thought he could see some that remained to his left, but there were a lot of bars in the way, and they were much too far to communicate with without shouting.

The day before, he never had succeeded in freezing the contents of the water bottle given to him at lunch, if you could call that lunch. He couldn’t get it cold enough to freeze. Instead he had gotten something he hadn’t thought to expect; a puddle of condensed water around the bottle. This surprise, though he knew he should have expected it, was certainly a welcome one, now he would have all the water he wanted, even if nobody came in to feed them.

He had tried to sleep again when the lights were turned off, but maybe it was something about being caged. His mind was “Bouncing off the walls” as his father would say. Assuming his captors kept to a 24-hour schedule with the lights, which he had no way to tell if they did, he figured he had been awake for 36 hours, maybe a little longer, but he was just beginning to tire out. I should feel like I’d rather be dead than awake at this point, did they do something to me in that respect too?

And then he realized something. His head shot up, his jaw dropped and his ears flattened back against his skull. I’ve been gone for two days?! Crap, Alexia is going to be worried sick over me! It had never really sunk in that time was passing both here and in the outside world, until now. He stood up and started pacing at the front of his cage, frantically trying to think of a way out.

((FYI, Austin's starting in cage #35, next to where Ethan was))

Like yesterday, Austin was sulking in the back corner of his cage, arms crossed and a look on his face that said, "Yeah, I'm pissed, what'r'you gonna do about it?". He had watched in silence as people were led out of their cages one by one that morning, including the mutt in the cage next to him, and was making bets with himself on how long he and others were going to survive this place.
He felt an odd pang in the back of his neck, but didn't think much of it, having experienced the same feeling periodically ever since being 'tested' the first day. He didn't like the idea of being a big lizard, nor was he at all happy about upchucking what little food was in his stomach onto the tile floor there.
But then he felt the pang again, just maybe a minute after, when yesterday they came maybe hours apart. His arms uncrossed for the first time a while when he felt it again, hand going up to rub the back of his neck. The massage didn't stop the pangs from coming, though, and soon he felt them not only in his neck but in his back, arms, legs, head.... Soon his body was aching all over; letting out a yell, he felt like his skin decided to explode off him, and he fell to the floor.

He let out a long hiss, trying to grit through he pain of transforming. Something in his gut or low in his neck was also revolting at the change, and he pressed his scaly snout into the ground in attempt to control the urge to give in to the apparent churning inside him.
He failed, though, and through a massive uncontrolled spasm, the foul-smelling liquid burst from his mouth, coating the bars around the touching front corners of his cage and the one next to him, as well as the magnetic lock device on the door to his cage.
The Komodo thought that was it, having only spat once in his lizardly state two days ago, but he soon felt the same churning well up inside him again, and while he tried to fight the feeling down again, he got the same result, this time his random spasm sending the acid even farther, splashing the bars on the other side of his cage, as well as several bars on the two cages in that direction, even splashing a little bit on the lynx two cages down.
The feeling thankfully didn't return, but he felt incredibly empty.... He collapsed on to his stomach, completely worn out for some reason.

The guards on duty heard the hissing and spitting, and one came over to the Komodo's cage to see what the fuss was about. The inoculee seemed obviously out-of-commission now, however he had worn himself out, and the guard was about to brush the occurrence off as nothing important when he noticed something was happening to the bars of the cages which had been coated by the dragon's.... bile?
"Yo, we got a situation over here!" he called out to his comrade, in a tone that communicated importance if not a pressing threat.
"Okay.... hang on a moment, getting a message from command...." A moment later, the second guard walked over to the cage of the offender and noticed the disappearing bars on this and the nearby cages. The magnetic lock of cage 35 made an odd sound at that point, and the cage door slipped ajar.
"Huh, funny coincidence, that.... this guy's supposed to be moved to B-block today. And now his cage is out of commission. And he looks out right now, too. Better be safe, though...." He pulled out a tranquilizer and shot one dose into the flank of the dragon. It jumped a bit, but was to tired to really move that much, and a minute or so later his head tilted to the side on the floor, the large lizard now completely unconscious.
"What about the others?" the first guard asked, pointing to cages thirty-four and -seven, -six having been emptied earlier that day. "The doors aren't compromised as far as I can tell, but I don't like the idea of cages with large sections weakened or completely gone."
"Eh, we can probably just move them into other empty cages. Put the girl in thirty, the cheetah's old cage, and the lynx can go into thirty one."
"Wha?" came a call from the cage just mentioned.
"Oh, right," the second guard said, walking over to the girl in cage thirty one. "I'm told you're going to join Mr. Komodo in B-block."
The first guard radioed for some others to come in and help them with what was apparently going to be a game of 'musical cages'.

((So, yes, I hope people understand what just happened there. Sorry to those people in cages 16-25, I apparently lied; this post took longer than I thought and I didn't get around to you yet. I will next post, promise.))
((If there's any confusion, cages 34-37 are now out of order, Caden's cage 30 now holds an NPC female, and Sam's moving to cage 31, which previously held another NPC female.))
((Also, if people want to RP other things happening, three other cages (6, 39, 40) will have their occupants joining B-block. If you do mention these NPCs being taken, though, try to not specify anything about them, if possible.))

The past week had sucked for Bendi. First he gets off of his plane an hour late, then he gets chosen for a "random mandatory strip search." He figured something was fishy when but just decided to go with it until he saw one of them pick up a tranq gun. Next thing he knows he's getting tazed and shot up with tranquilizers like a crazy roo.

The next thing Bendi knew was that he was in some lab. All he heard was voices and the mention of some serum, then all was black again. Then he awoke to find himself surrounded by people and animals. Normally, Bendi would've raised hell about the conditions of the animals, and he was going to until some of the animals started to change into people, and vice versa.

"What in the bloody 'ell 's goin' on in 'ere?" he whispered to himself before some men came to get him, saying that it was his turn to be tested. Bendi didn't remember much about the testing, but woke up again feeling rather drained in his cage. He didn't talk to anybody, which was unusual for him, and he mostly just kept trying to sleep in hopes of waking up from this nightmare.

Now Bendi was awake and thinking about how Anna Leigh would be worried sick. He lifted his head and jumped back, letting out a small yelp. In front of him was a faint image of his sister, exactly as he remembered her the last time he'd seen her: Blue eyes, ginger hair, and a bright, wide smile. But as soon as he noticed her, she faded away into nothing. "I think I've got some Kangaroos loose in th' top paddock!" he whimpered before trying to sleep once again. "I wish some bloke would say somethin' t' me."

((Geist, what cage is Bendi in?))
((And seriously, where is everyone? There hasn't been a PC post in almost a month, despite the recent NPC additions.... RAWR))

Fred heard his partner's radio crackle with a request for moving prisoners around.
"Sounds like sum'in' happ'nd t' sum o'da cages," commented the other guard.
"Think we should help'em out?" Fred asked, hoping for a 'no' response; he didn't like handling the prisoners.
"Hmm.... dun' see whah not," he said, standing up and stretching. "'Ah fur one dun' get wha we're s'psod t' be watchin' fur, wit' all dem cameras in da woods." He had a point. "C'mon, Gomez, if nuttin' else it's sum exercise."
Fred grudgingly got up out of his chair in front of all the TV screens, over half of which weren't even online yet anyway, and followed his partner to the cage room. Two of the other guards, apparently the ones who had radioed in, were helping a girl to her feet. In the cage next to her was a giant unconscious lizard with a tranq dart sticking out of its flank. Its cage, along with three others nearby, had bars thinned or completely missing.
"Oh, hey you two," said one of the guards with the girl. "Take that lynx over there and move'im in here," he said, leaving the door of the girl's cage open. He then said something to the second guard, who starting leading the girl away as he went over to the computers, apparently to change the information of who was where.
"Well now, aren't you a sad pussycat?" Fred turned to see his partner squatting in front of the lynx's cage, who definitely looked depressed, splayed flat on the floor like that.
"Oh, that's weird...." Fred heard behind him, turning once again to see the first guard staring at something on the computer screen. He then looked up, saying "Gomez," motioning for Fred to come over and look, which he did.
"Look," he whispered, pointing to a readout, "something's up with the power supply to the magnetic locks on cages twenty-three to twenty-25."
"Tha' can't be good," Fred said.
"The locks have several redundancies, but it makes me uncomfortable. I think we should move those three as well."
"If ya say so," he replied, shrugging a bit and letting his voice return to normal speaking volume. "So, how 'bout.... those three t' fourteen, fifteen, an' seventeen?"
"Sounds good to me," the other guard replied, beginning to walk over to the cages and open the door the cage twenty-three, the one with a girl. Fred stared for a moment, then realized that, since he didn't deal with the prisoners that much, he didn't have a key or something to open the cages with. He went back to the computer to see if there was any information about each cage and/or the prisoners in them, and sure enough he found each cage had a passcode override. First one he saw was for cage twenty-five, so that's where he went. Cage twenty-five held a fairly large but beat-up-looking young man. Before going for the door, he asked "Hey, we're gonna be movin' ya t' a dif'rent cage. Y'a'int gonna give me any trouble, righ'?"

Shanna jumped up, her mind coming out of her internal troubles as a hiss broke through the shell she usually found herself in whenever she let her mind wander. Her attention quickly focused on a large lizard of some sort, a Komodo Dragon if she wasn't too terribly mistaken. It looked like it was in pain. She rose quietly to her feet, and started taking a few steps towards the side of her cage closest to it, when it suddenly projectile vomited on the bars of the next cage over. She drew in a quick breath and stumbled very quickly backwards, away from the creature as it continued to heave, the display giving her a similar urge. She took a deep swallow to hold down her own bile, and curled up in the back corner of her cage again, knees drawn up against her chest beneath the long shirt she wore.

She watched as the Komodo was tranquilized, feeling quite glad that she wasn't being moved. She didn't want to be sent into unconsciousness if she could at all help it, not knowing what all the plans of these people was. She did notice, with some surprise, that the bars of the cage next to hers had been rather weakened, but she didn't want to draw more attention to it. Maybe if enough of the bars nearer her cage were corroded, she could try to loosen one and take it, though she doubted that. The guards had been more alert than usual, seemingly thanks to the prisoner transfers that were going on throughout the facility, which did very little to settle her about the current situation.

[Hm, PM me if I need to fix something in this post..]

There was commotion on the other side of the room again. Caine could hear voices with accents that sounded like they came straight out the Harry Potter movies, distorted radio noises, some shuffling and general movement noises, and a 'psshhwhuuup' noise- whatever that was. Caine sat leaning up against the back of her cage with her eyes half open. There were more blurry things moving around then usual..

Two guards came into her range of sight and tossed this skinny girl into the cell next to her - the cell opposite the one that they had taken Caden out of minutes before. Yeesh.. Caine thought, if they threw her in any harder they would've broken her! Muscle-headed jerks. Hm, well at least I'm not alone anymore. She sighed audibly and leaned over in her new neighbor's direction.

"Hello, hello, and welcome to wherever the hooey we are." Caine said with a small lopsided grin. "What's going on? Musical cages?"

The lynx woke with a jolt when something splat onto his fur. The feline yowled and felt a slight singed-like feeling where the bile had slapped itself onto his hindleg. Looking a few cages down was a komodo dragon that was apparently so very twitchy, one that the feline certainly didn't notice. He irritatedly swooshed his tail, not feeling very friendly after his intruding...spit or whatever it was spoiling his fur. The lynx thought twice about licking it clean, deciding to rub his flank along the cage bars to remove most of it and sat down again, keeping an eye on the dragon, though his eyes kept a close look at how the cage bars were melting.

It wasn't long after when guards came along and muttered a few words amongst themselves, then shot the then-already-tired lizard with a dart, carrying it and another cage away. There was a lot of movement then, including moving of several others, some going out.

Perhaps the lynx was also going to be taken out? Perhaps to rejoin the others?

"Well now, aren't you a sad pussycat?" a guard spoke. The lynx just watched him, before the cage's door flung open. The feline felt a sudden burst of hope - perhaps he would be taken elsewhere?

But unfortunately, he was just moved to a cage further down where a girl once sat. Beside him was just another girl, a new neighbour. Perhaps she would be someone he could finally interact with. Quietly, the lynx sat and observed this girl.

(Sorry for how long it's been. I hate finals)

"Hello, hello, and welcome to wherever the hooey we are." Caine said with a small lopsided grin. "What's going on? Musical cages?"

As she heard the girl next to her talk, Azura forced herself to slowly relax. In a moment, she was back to her normal self.
Taking a deep breath, she attempted communication.
"H-h-hey." She managed to stutter. The panic began slowly deepening in her stomach. "I g-g-guess so." The panic was almost overwhealming. " My n-name is...." Oh crap she thought as the pain began.
A few seconds later, she was seeing her cage from a few inches of the ground. "SQUEEEEEEEK!!!!!"
Azura paced her cage in frustration. She looked up, trying to see the girl she was talking too. With no luck, Azura curled up in a ball, wrapping her long tail around her and closed her eyes.
"Breath in, breath out, breath in, breath out."
She started to feel an odd, floaty feeling inside of her. She tried to rewrap her tail around her body, but something was wrong. Instead of moving her tail, she felt as if she was petting it! She opened her eyes and got up. Walking a few paces, she turned around to face her new friend. Thats what she saw it.
Her body was lying there just as she had left it. Looking down, she realized she was mostly see through! She grabbed her tail with her mouth and bit down hard. "Shit!"
The panic soon became so overwhelming she could feel her heart bet triple. Suddenly, she was snapped into her body while the pain of transforming kicked in.
She sat up as a human when it was over, looking at her neighbor. Trying to smile, she said,
"S-s-sorry about that. My n-n-name is A-azura."

Halfway through the girl's introduction she cringed and shut her eyes tightly. Uh.. what..? Caine was just about to ask if the girl was alright when she started shrinking and and changing into a darker color. Caine looked away- transformation wasn't something she was used to seeing yet. She glanced back when her neighbor made a frustrated squeak. What used to be a girl was now a.. some kind of small lemur? But Caden was a cheetah.. So there was more than one animal that the people in here could change into..? This-
Caine broke off from her thoughts when it occurred to her that the lemur-girl wasn't moving. She leaned over to get a better look. "Hey... hello.. you 'kay?" Just as she had finished speaking her neighbor started to change back. Caine moved away slightly and looked away again. Human bodies weren't supposed to move like that..

"S-s-sorry about that. My n-n-name is A-azura."

Ah, she was back to normal, thank goodness.. "I'm Caine," she replied automatically. After a pause she asked, "Does this whole transforming thing happen.. often?" I hope not.. it looks terrible..

"I h-h-hope not." Azura replied, "It's p-painful. At least I'm c-c-cute when I transform."
Azura stood up, stretching her legs trying to get the knots out. "I-it seems to happen when I underg-go extreme stress."
Suddenly, the realization of what Azura saw while transformed hit her like a brick wall. She could leave her body! What did these people do to her?!?!
"H-have you noticed anything s-s-strange going on? B-besides the t-transforming?"

Aaron had a new neighbor! He had watched the guards carry the man into his cell, and Anxiously awaited the newbie's awakening, still in his leopard form.

When the man awoke, Aaron yawned and stretched, just as a cat could be expected to. Funny how easy it was to act just like a cat when you were one. Then he transformed and announced his presence.

"Hey, Welcome to wherever this is. But wherever it is, don't expect to be going anywhere else real fast. I'm Alex, or Aaron, whichever you prefer."

"Anything strange..?" Well, stranger that was happened just now?
"Well the guy who was here a little while ago could turn into a cheetah.."

-Gawd, I hope he's okay. Its like those Nazi concentration camps in those books where the people get taken away and never come back..-

"But I haven't transformed yet... Or even undergone testing for that matter.. I'm starting to think I was skipped over by accident or something.. Ah, not that I mind though. Caden- the cheetah guy- he said that it was rather unpleasant. Hm, I was under the impression that we all could transform into cheetahs though. Oh, or maybe we can transform into a whole bunch of animals.. like.. in a family. Like lions and tigers."

This sucked. Less than the sensory deprivation chamber, but it still deserved the adjective. Her genetic information had been modified without her consent. What was she, humam, or dolphin? And she didn't even want to think about the personality changes that would happen as a result. So naturally she couldn't stop thinking about them.

After ten or so minutes of despair, she saw something interesting. "You're supposed to be dead," she called out.

It had been a couple days, and quite a few of the subjects had begun settling in, or moved somewhere else, so now it was time to jumble them again. Off balance inoculees were much more tractable than one who'd had too much time to consider his situation or take a good look at the surroundings. The scientist tapped out a few buttons on a screen, sending a message down to the cell block, ordering two of them up. He'd heard about a peculiar healing ability possessed by one of the subjects, and he was in the mood to test just how far such a thing could reach.

The guards took a quick look at the flashing message on the screen, looking at each other briefly before nodding. The first person they decided to go after was the tiger, the pair of them going over and opening the door. "You're needed in room seven. Give us any trouble, and you'll be going there unconscious." She shrank back from them as much as possible, but they didn't give her too much in the way of opting out as one of them strode in, seized her wrists, and pulled her out of the cell. Once they both had her by an arm, they began dragging her along. "No! Let me go! Stop! Someone help!" she called, her feet unable to get any purchase on the ground as she was dragged towards the exit. A quick punch from one of the more irritable of guards silenced her, and removed most of her resistance, a few minor movements all the fight she had left in her.

There was a several minute pause before the guards returned, walking along the opposite row of cells until they came to cage number 7. Bendi's cage. They grinned down at him, intending to take him, weather he wanted to go along or not. "Okay, you're up next. You going to go along the nice way, or kicking and screaming like the last one?" they asked, one of them already unlocking the door. He had maybe five seconds to decide what he was going to do.

"Hey, Welcome to wherever this is. But wherever it is, don't expect to be going anywhere else real fast. I'm Alex, or Aaron, whichever you prefer."

Bendi snapped back into reality. Someone was talking. To him! Turning, he saw another man in the cage next to him. "G'day," Bendi said naturally, mentally slapping himself. Today was in no way 'good.' "Pleased t' meetchya... Aaron, I s'pose. Th' name's Bendi, from down in th' OZ if ya' couldn't tell." With someone to talk to, Bendi was slowly getting back to himself. "Say, you wouldn't happen to have any bloody idea where we are, eh? I'm tellin' ya', bloke. They got a weird op'ration goin' on, whatever it is. For example, just a sec' ago I swear my sissy was right in front a' me."

He would've continued on, but a couple of guards came up to the cage and opened the door. "Okay, you're up next. You going to go along the nice way, or kicking and screaming like the last one?" Bendi had be so caught up in his somewhat one-sided conversation he'd not even noticed the first girl being dragged off.

"No need t' bail me up, fellas. I won't put up a blue. 'Sides, I figure wherever you're takin' me'll be better'n this bog standard place."
