Gregory made his way to the cage room next. He didn't visit there very often, and realized he probably should have done so daily. Oh well.
He a bit surprised when he got there, though. He had been expecting two, maybe three Stark guards to be present, so he could take one or two of them with him to the next stop on his "rounds". As it was, there were no employees in the room at the moment.
Well, this won't do, he thought, walking over to his desk. He took off his jacket and fitted it over the back of his chair before turning on his computer to check who might be available. He didn't really care now if it was one of Stark's grunts or one of his own, but someone had to be here at all times.
So he went with the first 'available' name on the list.
"Owens," he said into his communicator, "could you come down and monitor the subjects? Immediately."
With that, he clicked off the communicator and, slightly frustrated, bustled out of the room to his next stop.

She had been in this hellhole for a week. A week. And at all times, she had been watched. During the night, she wasn't watched by human eyes, but she was still watched. Under normal circumstances she would be greviously offended. Right now she was too tired.

Today was different, though. There were no guards, or scientists...

Dr. Evil walked into the room. Well, that's weird. Is he going to give a speech or something?

Oh, he was getting his jacket. Wait. He put his jacket on the chair, called some guard, and left without his jacket. Briefly she considered telling him that but decided against it. He might not end up coming back later for it, but he'd end up paying her attention.

He seemed rather preoccupied.

She looked carefully at his desk. It was wood. Tests had shown that she had some wood-based abilities. Unfortunately, it was far away.

Wood could be freedom, but it was right out of reach. If only she could open the cage.

Quincy slowly waltzed into to room, spinning and twirling his way to the desk. "Well, well, well, what have we here? Bossman's left his coat." The masked man quickly slipped the jacket over his arms. "Heh, 'Like a BAWZ'." Sitting at the desk, he switched on his communicator, putting on his best McFarland impression.

"Alix, I need you to deliver my dry cleaning to sub level B like a good dog. And let Harold know that there's a stubborn stain on the left cheek of my favorite trousers and I just can't seem to get it off. I'll give you a treat when you get back."

Switching it off, he looked over the remaining subjects. "So, guys and gals, how's it going? Are you ready for your daily tests?"

"Yay..." Caine slowly clapped her hands in an unenthusiastic manner. The strange Quincy fellow- why didn't they keep him in a cage? - was close enough that she could see him clearly. He did look a bit blurry around the edges though..

Caine was getting tired of all the pricking and blood pressure tests and all those other boring test-y stuff. She still had no idea where she was, why she was there, and what she was supposed to do. In addition to that, they still hadn't given her new prescription glasses, or genetically erased her sight problems or something. Plus there wasn't much available to pass the time- putting her in a rather sour mood.

However, that Quincy guy- as creepy and weird as he may be- was not boring. In fact, judging by what he said into the comm, he seemed far from it. A smile tugged at the corner of Caine's mouth. It was a grim smile- and barely even a smile- but it was a smile nonetheless.

"I was starting to feel all lonely and neglected."

"We are trapped in tiny cages. How do you think it's going?" Anmar said, then cursed herself silently for giving the guard the response he wanted.

She needed to work on that a bit.

"Well, if that's the attitude you're gonna take, Miss All-Nibble, perhaps you would like to be excluded from today's fun activities. In fact, any of you who want to stay in here today, let me know! I'm feeling generous!" Quincy smiled and waited to see if any hands would be raised.

She might be impulsive, but she wasn't a total idiot. She knew she was being baited, and remained silent.

[Gah, short post.. I am ashamed..]

"Miss All-Nibble...?"

What kind of a name is that? Caine thought, Ah, I think its a joke. ....I don't get it. Her grim smile faded and was momentarily replaced with a look of confusion before turning blank once again.

"Um, so... what's on the agenda for today? Or more importantly, what's for lunch?" She asked as casually as possible. All she had ate for breakfast was the typical energy bar. It tasted okay, but it couldn't compare to a homemade turkey sandwich. "Most important meal of the day and all... well, after breakfast."

((I'm back from the dead - the internet shutdown kind of dead!))

A frustrating voice was the first thing that came to Sam's ears. It was awful, it was painful, it woke the lynx up, who growled angrily at the masked man.

"So, guys and gals, how's it going?" finishing his long command to another, he finally addressed the people trapped in their cages "Are you ready for your daily tests?"

Sam just raised his tail and hackles, not making any noise but making it known he was not happy. If he made a sound, they wouldn't give him any food - or any entertainment. It was that simple. Looking back the last week, the lynx had recalled that day by day, he was getting more aggressive. It didn't matter. He liked what he had - the power to coat himself in ice - to launch it as if they were missiles, to encase what he touched in ice and many more. He liked it the most when he got to freely try it out on dummies. That was the most entertaining thing he looked forward to daily. And today, he wondered if he'd have something new to chew on.

((First post in the roleplay since my sudden absence:p so i will try to make good posts from now on))
Nezeret had been asleep when he heard voices. He woke up, but he did not open his eyes. No, he had learned to check out what the noises were first. The days he had been there, while they had tested him. He had lost his sense of time. But still, breakfast did sound good right now. He could also hear something growling, and a voice that sounded like it came from outside the cages, not inside them. He tried not to recall the days that had gone past, and finally he opened his eyes. As he had been doing every time he woke up, he held his hand flat and focused. Air, barely visible, slided across his arm before concentrating at the bottom of his hand, sharply formed. He placed his hand at one of the bars with four lines in it. He made a fifth with a loud -slink- sound. He doubted that it had only been five days. The air vanished and he groaned. Using the power he had made him get headaches. The transformations were painful too, but not as much as in the beginning. And he usually stared up into the roof, thinking about getting outside. These people could not keep him here forever. And when he got out of this cage without two-three rifles or guns pointed at him there would be payback time. Now, this guy that were talking, the one single guy in there that was, in fact, not one of those that were in cages, he had to be taken down. But how.....He had to think about that.

((Alot of people don`t know how to use air properly. I do:3))

Ference opened his eyes a bit, blinking at the question of if they were ready for the tests. A muffled yawn was pulled from his throat. Frowning, he listened as the man reprimanded another prisoner.

"In fact, any of you who want to stay in here today, let me know. I'm feeling generous." the man said, addressing the group before turning to look around. Ference tilted his head as another voice piped up.

"Um, so... what's on the agenda for today? Or more importantly, what's for lunch?" She asked, apparently trying to appear as casually as possible. "Most important meal of the day and all... well, after breakfast."

In response, Ference scratched his head before flopping back onto the blanket that covered the floor of the cage.

"Today's agenda is simple. You've all had a chance to get to know who's what just by listening to us guards talking about you. Hopefully, you've been paying attention, because today, we're going to hold a vote. Anyone who gets voted for more than twice stays here today. Everybody else gets a special surprise." Quincy hopped onto the desks in the center of the room so he could see everyone. "One by one, shout out your name and who you vote for. If you can't shout due to a lack of standard human communication equipment, you're exempt from the voting and are participating in the following phase regardless. Miss All-Nibble, you get to start us off."

Nezeret listened to the guy that now were sitting on a desk in the middle of the room. What he said made him worry. And who the heck were miss all nibble? That did not matter right now. He had to get the guard closer to his cage if he wanted a chance to knock him out. Or something like that. He got up and leaned on the cage bars trying to get as close to the other side as he could without really being there. All he needed was to get a hand out. That was all. He took a deep breath. Hey mister jackass. Why should this miss all nibble or whatever begin? You are as sane as a crab that goes up against a tank. Why don`t you let us know what this secret is mister jackass? He yelled. But the yelling were only something he did to make sure the sound of the air marbles he slowly made falling on the ground were not heard. All he needed to do was getting the guy towards his cage, and hope that he would step on them. if he could do that, he should be able to do something to get free, right? maybe he had something that could get them free. Or a weapon that he could fire at the cage door to get free. But first of all, get the darn guy towards his cage. Primary objective. lure the target. Await the trap.

"There's one vote for Anmar! That's the spirit, uhh... Nazarat wasn't it? Your parents had some strange taste in baby names. I'd have named you Carl." The masked man produced a tarot card from his sleeve. "Aah, 'The Hermit'. Good one, Carl. Keep your lantern lit, might show you just what you need to see. As for why Dolphin-lady was gonna go first, It's because I like to play favorites." Quincy held an arm over his face and threw his head back, his voice toking a sarcastically sad tone. "One more vote though, and I may never see her again! Why must you be so cruel, Carl! Boo hoo hoo ho-" He stopped mid cry, voice returning to normal instantly "Alright, enough of that. Nezeret, keep up the attitude, you might need it later. Next person, state your name for the record and vote away!"

So much pointless babble... Derrik thought to himself before saying out loud,
"Names are meaningless here, I want to stay."

Nezeret closed his hand into a fist before he hit the bars. He had tried to make him get towards him. It did not work. But the air marbles were on the gorund now, so he could make use of them. He sat down and tried to focus. Slowly the small air marbles rolled over the floor, barely visible. They were made of compact air, so that was not so strange. But it drained his energy to keep them moving. But he did not need to keep them moving for long. He let them roll by themselves the last part. He did not like that jackass at all. And as soon as he took a step he would most likely step on one of his marbles of compact air. Right now he would do anything to cause him pain. what if we choose you? Then you have to stay here, right? you said so yourself He said with a hint of joy in his tone. Oh that did actually make sense. Because he never said it did not apply to him too.

No, Nazarat. That would be logical and fair. He is not logical or fair.

"And if we refuse to vote?" she asked. "If we refuse to humiliate ourselves anymore than you already have? If we don't play your little game?"

Based on the OOC thread, I've edited it so Fio is in the main room. Sorry for any confusion. If I've made any mistakes, please feel free to let me know.

What felt like a crippling hangover slowly was bringing Fio Enyer back to full consciousness. His head pounding, sounds ringing in his heads, the former Marine said, “Derrick Huxley, I swear I am never letting you take me out again…”

Also finding himself struck with nausea, Fio fought from throwing up, and slowly opened his eyes. This was not his dormitory room back at Skirata Industries, or even a hotel room that he had spent a drunken night of debauchery in, clothes and underwear strewn about with empty beer bottles.

He found himself in a dim corner of a large room, with a soft florescent light set to a minimum power. Strong steel bars surrounded him in an animal cage, roughly a 9 foot square that was maybe five feet high. Looking down, Fio found a plate of day-old food waiting for him, a bucket for reasons he didn’t want to guess at and he was clad in a thick cotton hospital gown.

Okay, I know I paid into my company health insurance this month, Fio quipped to himself as he took stock of the room around him. His last memory was fuzzy; he was on a simple snipe job in Seattle; and was heading back to Skirata Industries’ headquarters when things got fuzzy.

The room smelled like a kennel; looking around, there was a small desk, across from the cage was a medical cart filled with plenty of nasty looking equipment. A blood pressure cuff, a stethoscope, plus a biohazard trash can that from the shadows, likely had spent sharps in it. All around the rest of the room, there were other people in cages, and some wild animals. Okay, Fio was for trying anything once, but if he had missed something fun, it was going to make him grouchy.

The desk had a pile of clothes on it, from what he could see, one of his own hooded sweatshirts and a pair of khakis, with his green and black cloverleaf patterned boxer shorts. Thank god who ever took him never saw his infamous Wonder Woman ones that his best friend Derrick Huxley had bought him as a gag gift.

Fio looked around and found the lock to his cage. He wished he still had his lockpicks hidden in his underwear, but one thing at a time. The lock was a solidly made computerized keypad model, with the battery cover and any screws on the exterior of the cage where it would have been more difficult for him to get at. Well, someone knew what they were doing.

Fio picked up some of the stale bread from the plate and chewed carefully, letting the tastes swirl over his tongue as he tried to detect any foreign agents. He didn’t know much about poisons or drugs, but he figured someone had gone through a lot of trouble to find him and drag him here, where ever here was. He was ex-marines, and a sniper; Fio was perfectly content in waiting things out before he acted.

Some feet away, someone was tallying votes out loud.

Sam listened to the harlequin, giving out the 'simple' duty which was met with heavy resistance. It didn't matter - why did they have to be so difficult? The men outside these cages have the power to do with them, just rebelling outright is not only stupid but it was an easy way to get themselves stuck in the room with no entertainment.

Regardless the clown did give an interesting hint - why wouldn't he ever see people left behind in the first place? Was something to happen to them? Even so, Sam would be forced to move along to this 'next phase' because he simply couldn't speak their tongue no longer - and with everything happening around him, he was glad for it.
