Actually, pending my character approval, I was going to place myself in the cage room if that's alright. Well, to be more specific, in a large closet just off the cage room - my character's a polar bear, so he wouldn't be able to fit in the normal sized cages the rest of you have been using.

Sounds good, y/n?

I actually think we'd have cages that'd accomodate them properly. It'd make no sense to have equal sized cages if someone turns into, say, a rat who would be able to crawl through bar-spaces. It'd likely be patient specific to prevent powers or anything to break them.

Are you saying I should move my guy into the main room instead? I put him on a off shoot of the cage room under mod advice, because a polar bear does require a little more space.

If a post needs more action just point me towards it. We;ve still got a moody wolf in reserve as I've got no idea where to put her. As long as I can come up with a reason she's there, even if it's just she's been sent there to keep out the way of escaping wolves, then she'll be their.

Will is in need of an antagonist, he'll be breaking into a lab in a little while and someone's got to chase him away before he finds the hydrogen cylinders ;)

Technically - all of the people 'need' more space, but we've been given just enough so we can stretch our legs, and be a bit comfortable. So an offshoot part of the cage room isn't *necessary* as much as the bear would need a bigger cage.

Then again, best to ask a mod.

I was actually kind of disappointed the crew skipped over B-block in the first place... I know we "wanted" to get A and C together, but randomly skipping B earlier seemed a bit too... fortuitous? in terms of suddenly finding Sabra et. al. in C-block.
I would like to see B-block at least opened - every test subject in the facility is supposed to "be released" during the "escape", after all. (Since there are currently two keycards, I was thinking one would open the living blocks, the other would open the cages. That's certainly not set in stone or anything, though.)
Now, the NPCs in B-block were selected because they seemed likely to sympathize, maybe ally, with Circe. There haven't been any explicit offer from Circe to any test subjects yet for potential work agreements, etc. I'm imagining most, if not all, of the B-block NPCs would remain neutral to the situation/unsure if leaving the room is better in the long run - at least until someone from Circe comes and talks to them, at which time at least four of them would mobilize to help chase down the escaping test subjects.

HERP DERP I CAN’T READ—re-writing my response to actually address what I think I’m reading here… XD

My main reasoning for skipping it? They're NPCs. I just wanted a bit more information before opening the door to a group of characters that we have next to no desc on :)

And am I understanding you correctly in that if we DO open the door, they will likely stay behind there, and thus we needn’t worry about having to play an unknown group of NPCs as hangers-on?

That can be arranged, as she tends to hang around in the labs anyway. It could actually be possible she's been shut in there, due to aformention loose wolves. Unless anyone has any beter ideas?

Oh, good call the - I forgot about that. X-D I guess me having a rough idea of who's in there doesn't help anyone else very much, does it?

Most would probably stay in the room, one or two would "follow" but really be looking for an authority figure to ask what's going on. There certainly wouldn't be any attacking being done.

Do people want me to start posting descriptions of the NPCs somewhere before they're brought up in the RP? One's been up in the NPC prisoner thread for a while now, but I could start adding others.

@ tank-mode Damien:

There is part of my brain that is objecting, since Kayje mentioned that the motivation for choosing aluminum for the plating material was partly that it's nonmagnetic so Damien couldn't play with it, so it seems odd that they would use magnetizable screws, but it is being out-shouted by the squeeing fanboy who is having Toph flashbacks. Awesome! :D :D

Seemed a little strange to me, too, but that's what Kayje said...

Actually, now that I think about it, that raises an interesting question.

The reason some things can be magnetized and others can't, is because of the alignment, or lack thereof, of the poles of individual cells. In "non-magnetic" stuff, there is no alignment; the poles are scattered, facing every which-way, like ants who've lost their trail. And even specifically magnetic minerals can lose that property with a series of heavy, sharp impacts; that kind of punishment can knock the poles out of alignment, after which it would take another magnet to realign them and restore the magnetic force.

From there, it's not much of a leap to think that somewhere waaaaay down the line, when Damien has gained enough power and learned enough control, he might be able to magnetize anything; latch on to the individual cellular poles and align them by conscious will, like sorting beads.

I won't be playing that card here, of course, but it's an interesting concept of potential.

Ah, not all materials show that property, it depends on electron arrangements which is university level so I won't go into it here unless you really want me to (curiously this is in character knowledge for Will). Basically IIRC, everything will respond to a magnetic field if its large enough, but the size of field is on the order of kilotesla and for reference the standard bar magnet is around a ten thousandth of that. The traditional magnetic and ferrous materials require significantly less force to move around.

Based on our earlier discussion, I've retconned Fio into the main room, but haven't changed his actions. He's still waiting and watching before he'll speak up or do anything.
Sorry for any confusion, and let me know of any other changes.
