Sorry, I had finals and papers and other evil school stuff. I'm working on my post right now. ^^

Edit: Also, should I create a few guard NPCs before the fighting starts?

Perhaps I should have made Amnar English, blue-eyed, and significantly younger....

Couldn't resist.

Count yourself lucky my mother didn't see that, Fibio; you'd be up to your ears in worse puns if she had.

That pun was terrible.

I approve.

You people make me happy.

Also, CY:

Without actually having a useable map, I had been working on the assumption that the hallway looked something like this… If only because, had Caleb had to actually pass room B, he WOULD have tried to open it. :/ Can we get a map, so things like that won't happen again? Written descriptions of hallways and floors mean almost nothing to me... >.>;

Um... my impression was that he DID pass room B:
Quote:
No one seemed to be coming; Caleb followed the hallway from where room ‘B’ had been, and stopped at the next door one. Like the other two, this was labeled in sharpie, though this time it was a large ‘C’ next to the door.
And when you initially asked if it was too meta for us to "skip trying to open" block B, I assumed you knew that you had literally skipped over it because of that above quote and the fact you didn't question why I thought it was "random" to have skipped it in the first place.
At the very least, the area we're in actually looks roughly like this:
Code:
   | |
   | |____.A._______.B.___
   |  __________________  |
   | |                  | :C
rec: |                  | |
   | |                  | |
I very explicitly stated in my RP post on 3/17 that, from block A, down the hallway in one direction was B plus a bend, and down the hallway in the other direction was a second hallway where the rec room was. This was re-emphasized with my post on 4/8, with the "other direction" (i.e. opposite from going A->rec) being the direction of B. I guess if you switched the labels for A and B on the map you linked, that would then match up with my descriptions. But then that goes against what you had posted (quoted above) as that quote links B-C while all of mine linked A-B, so A-B-C would be required.
Rgahhh...... I don't want to have to make a complete layout plan of the facility... that'll be so much detail... T_T
How much do you need it?

If you’ll look at the way I had drawn the map, saying “from where room B was” simply means he came to the intersection and turned left instead of right. And as far as “skipping,” it was more of a question of not opening them in order as opposed to walking right past one of the doors. I’m sorry if that was unclear, but to be honest, your posts were a bit unclear to me as well. As I’ve stated more than once--see my post on April 9th, as well as the one you’re responding to here--written descriptions of a map without a picture to go with it means nothing.

As far as how much I need… well, I suppose that depends on you, really :/ I would personally like at least the major corridors--how to get to the cage room from where we are, how to get to the surface door. I don’t know if anyone else is a little bored with how slowly the RP seems to be going, but I myself would be happy to just “happen” to find the right corridors to get to where we want.

I know, I know - I said I assumed you knew; obviously I misinterpreted.
Even though you said written descriptions don't really work for you in the post on the 9th, in my (mis)interpretation I thought you had at least that aspect of the layout correct, which was why I didn't say anything else - I thought you were selling yourself short with the whole written description thing. (Though now I'm interested in how you picture buildings and stuff when you read novels... Not as a slam to you, I'm actually rather curious now.)
And I don't see how "in one direction, seeing X.... in the other is Y" is unclear.... Whatever, I also usually read "from" by itself as needing a point of origin - like, I read "hallway from B" as "hallway starting from the area around B" which would only make sense in reference to the northern branch in your map, and if you'd used "away from" I would have seen the problem right away - so I guess it's just different writing styles which can't really be argued....

Hgnmm... The problem with that is, aside from a single north-south hallway on each floor, there aren't any major corridors at all - the facility is basically a maze. Not only is that an architectural security measure, it plays into the impression I got from Lithas that the escape is supposed to a long time in-RP as the facility should be chaos as it happens. I basically don't want large groups all finding an exit at once. Small groups or individuals, fine, but that won't happen until the unaware Stark guards clue in to what's going on and break up the party. (Which should be happening soon, both as McF sent out a message about Will's explosion, and as Austin is now running off to find someone.)
Anyway, once I find where I packed my tablet I'll try to get some sketches up of parts of the facility.

Whilst Will didn't get on with Uni he was good enough to get in in the first place. Things like simple bombs and poisons gas are well within his expertise, just don't ask him to list the valance shells of iron.

:| We seem to have encountered a touch of culture shock. Here in the states, knowing how to make simple bombs and poison gases is not requisite for getting into college ;) We certainly never learned to make thermite in high school.

Really? I did.

Okay, so they didn't tell me directly how to make bombs. But the recipe for thermite is GCSE level stuff and with a well stocked lab, fairly easy to produce if you can just get your hands on some magnesium ribbon. Poison gas is also simple, just mix the hydrochloric acid with anything basic, like bleach, and if you have enough of either you get enough chlorine to, at the very least, make the area uninhabitable for a few minutes.

In character I'm modeling Will's skills off of my own as we would have studied similar subjects. Anything that I could do without looking it up, Will can. Rest assured he's not going to be making dynamite or mustard gas, they're just to specialist for him to know.

Books and Roleplay are different animals--when reading a book, I don't need to attempt to flawlessly recreate the author's floor plan.

Another option could be, assuming we are splitting up into smaller groups and individuals, we just don't worry about each others' maps matching up exactly.

That sounds reasonable. Though now I'm feeling a little gipped, since all I learned in that field was how to electrolyze salt water to produce bertholite and nicely explosive hydrogen, and that I had to teach myself :P

Hey, Day of Glory?

Your last post seemed to indicate you were approaching mine and Acinonyx's character.
Was this the case and we should wait for you to post, or were you heading towards someone else?

I take it a mod would like to narrate the actions of any guards.

How are the guards scripted to react when the prisoners break out of the room? Or are there even still guards that can put up a fight?
