So, here's where I'm turning to you all for help.

Promotion is a daily focus of mine, and I've tried all sorts of things to spread the word about our little comic here. And story-wise, we're still young, and we are definitely slowly growing. But I can't really do it alone. Word of mouth, after all, is the best promotion tool.

I'm looking for people, forumers here, who are willing to sign up to help promote the comic. It can be tiny, little things, putting a small banner in a forum profile, mentioning us from place to place. If you know of comic lists, add us to them; if there are places that take reviews, write one for us! And particularly: if you're going to conventions, please contact me; I can have some flyers or business cards made that you could pass out for us.

For you guys who are willing to help out, I'm willing to offer some type of prize/compensation, though at the moment I don't had the foggiest idea what. I'll happily promote your own comic as a Link of the Week; I'll be sure to give special recognition to our street team when the time comes for special recognitions. I'd entertain any other ideas for what people might like in return for helping.

But right now, I'm looking for street-team sign-ups. This isn't binding or anything, but it does let me know who's interested in helping out.

So, who's in? And thanks!!

I'll do what I can on the forums I frequent. Can toss out links on Twitter too, here and there.

Well I'm going to an anime convention in the beginning of July, I guess I could hand out some cards or flyers there.

I don't really visit many forums so I can't promote that way though.

Send me your address and I'll be sure to get you something. And any other way you can help out--even if it's just telling your friends!--would be hugely appreciated.

It'd also be cool if someone with a FurAffinity account would spread our name over there. While we're not really a furry comic, we do have animals, so people in that zone might be interested.

I'm on Fur Affinity, I'll throw up a link in my journal, maybe stick a shout out in my next submission.

EDIT: slapped it on this one http://www.furaffinity.net/view/3750915/

I tend to mention it on the IGN forums and with friends that I know enjoy webcomics. Can't say I'm really interested in compensation, though - just keep doing what you guys do best!

If you want to attract more people towards promoting it, though, I would suggest offering to put people into the comic in the mid-backgrounds of various scenes. Take someone's picture and left Jeff convert them into an extra, so to say.

(idea stolen from Penny Arcade)

I know I am grave digging, but as its a link in D.Z's Sig...

I will happily spread the word. I have a group of friends who love webcomics.

And if i ever do get my w-comic underway then i will happily link it!

Thanks a bunch, Reedy!

Don't worry about gravedigging this topic. We always need more help promoting, so any help you, or anyone, can give, at any time, is terrific.

Thanks!!

Well, I don't know how helpful I can be, but I'll give it a shot.

(He says, near a month later.)

I'm assuming you guys could still use the help promoting? There isn't much I can do since I don't go to cons... but I could spread the word around Deviantart via my journal? I could also pass the comic link on to friends and have them read? ^^

Okay, I'm WAY late, but here's what I got so far:

Image

Bottom right will have symbols+headshot lineart (from the reference image posted in the characters thread) once I figure out how to completely change their color....

=EDIT=
WHOA okay awesomeness has just occurred; I have discovered both the 'invert' option in the colors menu, awesome for turning the black lineart on white background to white lineart on black background, and the 'threshold' value-chooser for painting. Epic! ^.^

I think it's safe to say you can expect all four 'final' banners to be ready by the end of the evening (US CST). X-D

That looks great, but, er, I think it's a bit enormous! Can it be sized down a bit?

Of course! I like working with big images, only scaling them down to the desired size once I'm done, if only because my freehand ability is not quite as fine as I would like it to be...

That (above) is 750x225. Would you prefer 600x180 or 500x150?

I guess when I'm not busy I can go looking around for places online that allow advertising of non-rps. I've already done it on one I frequent, and will look for oppotunities of others. Sadly the only con I ever go to is the Expo in london, which I believe Jeff already has sorted.

Another idea is a sig button, like the street team, for other forums, unless thats what the street team was intended for.
