This is not a thread for questions about how the RP is run - here or here instead for that.
This is a thread for you to comment on RP posts, speculate as to what McFarland/Lithas has up his sleeve, and just generally talk about the RP.
Just because I thought it's be nice to have a thread to talk freely about the RP (that, and it's highly frustrating me that this forum has nothing akin to a Cbox....)

I for one am on such a high that this thing is finally started that I'm (unhealthily) checking in every three to five minutes to see if there's a new post.... X-D

Don't worry, that's the entire reason why I'm online instead of doing anything useful. XD

I've yet to play in an RP where there was a character limit on threads. The most posters I've seen in one thread (and it still being coherent - I'm not counting single-thread RPs here) is seven or eight, though due to allowing for multiple characters per RPer I've done threads with 12+ characters in them before and still had them work out really well. From what I've seen, threads usually self-select for how many people post in them, and considering the current RP thread here is basically an 'intro' thread, there's gonna be a LOT of posting. Dunno how much story will result.
Am waiting for another two or so people to post before I make my second.

Same, I'm also wondering if it's too early to drag my character off kicking and screaming for 'testing'

Same, except I've been in sing thread roleplays with well over fifteen posters and still be coherent. Such is the beauty of placing a location t the top of ones post.

I actually don't know if we're going to be "dragged off" for the testing at all - I put that in my post originally, then realized i don't know if they're going to be "tested" right in the cages. For a group that's had no real qualms about killing off six generations of subjects, I wouldn't be surprised if they perform the transformation-inducing torture right in front of the other prisoners.

Anyway, both Caden and Damien seem to be getting attention by now. ^.^ First, physicals; then, transform and demonstrate! (or, not, as it may be in the case of Damien)

Oh, of course; I didn't count single-thread RPs in my statement simply b/c they kind of have to be coherent with an overload of characters. If not, the whole RP doesn't last very long. =-)

Ouch. Were I do my RPing typically we put caps on it, and I prefer smaller, but in terms of rps with multiple threads, yeah I've never had a cap for players, only single trhead, though I've done some singles with over 15 characters... just not players.

And yeah, as my net's not working, I haven;t got much to do right now exept read when I can get hold of another computer. Beside not sure what thsose aligned with McFarland should be doing, especially somone like Kia... hopefully it'll be better tommorow.

I'm kinda playing it by ear. Honestly I've never done a forum roleplay before, just tabletop.

Which is precisely why I'm not likely to post again until I have a better idea of what McFarland means to happen to Damien next. So far, I have only vague generalities to work from, and most of them apply solely to those who have yet to display any power.

Just wondered since I've never done rp's with any more than about 4 players, then after a while the whole site dies. So I've never had experience with a lot of players. Not saying I'm not looking forward to it though, it'll just be new :D

Maybe they're dragging two or three people off to see if they're healthy-ish for an indication of how many subjects can be expected to live. If it's less than X%, they can keep everyone else in their cages, leave them to starve and set up Generation Y somewhere else in the building. It saves time and effort.

Well, if she has no real reason to be in the lab at the time everyone's waking up, (she's not a scientist and, unless I misunderstood, not thoroughly trained as an SO/soldier,) I bet you could start a thread of her interacting with the handful of non-7thG chars or NPCs somewhere else in the facility. Or have her just sneak into the room to watch the proceedings out of interest. =-)

Hmm yeah. Starting another thread was my first thought, as this one would get crowed even without the test subjects, though I don't know how Lithas is planning this to work, and if it will mess with tings...so yeah, might take the second option of sneaking in, or something similar that doesn't disobey orders.
And yeah your right. She's not an Operative yet, just being trained to be one, or similar.

Well, from the Offical Plot and the first post, we already know 7thG is much healthier than any previous generation, including 6thG where about a 2/3rds majority survived the initial stages and did well enough that Stark voluntarily exterminated them after six months.

...Theory of Narrative Causality, then. "Things happen because the plot says they should." Works just as well. XD

I'm wondering has anyone considered escaping when they come to take their character away?

I hadn't no, though for my character to do that would probably be out of character. She's too timid to even consider that so soon. She'd probably need assistance if she were to escape rather than act on her own.

Continuity question:

Kayje wrote:
Once he heard McFarland start his speech, Kayje slithered from his resting spot, coming to the Plexiglas front of his cell. Having been awake for most of the previous week, he was adapting to his snake body well, though some of the movements were still jerky, and even when still, he seemed to shake.

Official Plot (with emphasis added) wrote:
As for wake-up time, all subjects have been hooked up to monitoring equipment and when pulses quicken and eye movement starts they know the subjects should be up soon. Everyone was inoculated around the same time, so they should wake up pretty close to each other, though that is pretty much up to the individual RPer.

Official Plot also wrote:
The Stark inoculees are given pretty much unlimited freedom, and stay in a separate Barracks with much better living conditions. Some may have already transformed and discovered their abilities.

Presumably the "everyone" who was inoculated at the same time refers only to the kidnapped, and not to SO inoculees--otherwise the SO folk wouldn't have had time to discover their abilities, yes?

Also, if Kayje is a Stark agent, why is he in a cell?

Kayje is in a cell for monitoring purposes. It's not locked, and his stuff is in there with him. I thought about having him in a terrarium on one of the desks instead, but then he'd not be able to become human. As I posted, he's been awake from the inoculation for most of the week. I figure the Employee Volunteer inoculations were done on a separate timetable to the kidnapees, he signed up late and got in on the last batch.

As for other stuff there may be questions about, the skin shedding was artificially induced, to see what would happen to the human. I'll be putting some of it in my next post, but basically, Human Kayje's outermost layer was removed with the shedding.
